| Building Capacity for Effective Action |
|
Winter School 5-7 August 2011 In the Ridvan message of 2010, the Universal House of Justice refers to the inherent "capacity of millions upon millions of oppressed people of the world to arise and take a decisive part in building the Kingdom of God on earth." The primary purpose of the tools and instruments developed so far in the consecutive Five Year is to assist us to build capacity in ourselves and the people around us to undertake such a mighty task.
The program of winter school is designed to provide a space for the friends to reflect on the process of capacity building and identify the role they should play in this process. This will be achieved by creating a dynamic and experiential learning environment for the participants to focus and reflect on the recent messages of the Universal House of Justice, to internalize the guidance and identify its application in their lives. The program is designed to provide you with an opportunity to: (a) Enhance the “breath of our vision and clarity of our thoughts” (b) Increase our understanding about the growth process (c) Learn more about the nature and processes of transformation (d) Augment our learning about the “society-building power of our Faith” (e) “Learn the ways and methods of community building” (f) Advance our learning about how to “foster a vibrant community life in neighbourhood” (g) Make a personal plan to make this global enterprise a personal concern
