Junior Youth Peace Camps

16-20 December

Junior Peace Camps are spiritual and moral development camps with primary focus on values education and character building. They are designed to be beneficial, appealing, and appropriate for junior youth from various backgrounds.

Aims and Objectives

Peace Camps have a two-fold aim:
  • To create bonds of love and friendship among junior youth.
  • To familiarise participants with some understanding of issues, values, attitudes and skills related to peace within and without based on the teachings of the Bahá'í Faith. Within refers to self and without is in relationship to the human and physical environment around the self.

In the context of these aims, the camps will empower the junior youth to develop respect for self and others, including self-awareness, self-esteem, self-trust, open-mindedness, and discipline.

  • to acquire values, develop attitudes and apply the skills that enable them to adopt inner peace and peaceful relationships with others.
  • Enhance understanding of the nature of conflict and improve their capacity to effectively resolve conflict.
  • Acquire values, attitudes and skills essential for living in a respectful, inclusive, peaceful and global society.
  • Develop willingness to protect environment and participate in its sustainable development.

Age

The Junior Youth Peace Camps are run for junior youth of 12-14 years of age. There are other programs available for older or younger junior youth.
